GREGORY THOMAS WOOD
Gregory Thomas Wood, 48, of Brooklyn, MI died July 28, 2009. Mr. Wood, the son of Richard T. Wood and the late Elizabeth M. Wood, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure. Greg was a graduate pf Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, MI, and received a Bachelor's degree from Hope College in Holland, MI. At the time of his death, Greg was a sales director with Global Industries.
Greg was an avid player of any game with a ball, where you could play to win. He particularly loved golf, a game he played first with his father and grandfather as a young man, and then with the many longtime friends that he made throughout the years. Greg had exuberance for life that few could resist, and he will be remembered for filling every room he entered with laughter and joy.
Survivors include his father Richard, his stepmother Bette, his sister Susan, the Strickland family, Charlie, Sue, Ashley and Sara Jane; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many faithful friends- his brothers in the true sense of the word.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ann Arbor, MI on Sunday August 2, 2009 at the University of Michigan Golf Club, beginning at 11:30 a.m. A reception at Fraser's Pub, in Ann Arbor, will immediately follow.
In addition, a Memorial Service will be held in Savannah, GA on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island, followed by internment in the memorial garden.

I was shocked and deeply upset by the death of Greg. I knew him all too well- We shared so very much during our short but blessed time together. The world has certainly lost a charming and wonderful soul. Margi

I've met Greg a few times as he was part of my original Hope College graduating class of 1983 though I graduated in 1984. His passing was mentioned on Hope College's alumni website and it just saddens me to learn of a fellow classmate's passing of this life. He was a fine fellow. My condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Greg. I worked with him for a number of years in the office furniture industry. Greg was always upbeat and a generally happy guy! He was always golfing or participating in some kind of sports. I thought he was a great guy and enjoyed his laughter. My deepest sypathy to his family. I'm sure you will miss him greatly, his friends will.

Cousin Greg was always so sweet to us. I remember very clearly him hoisting me up on his shoulders at a long ago family event, much to my delight. He will be very missed. To Uncle Dick, Susan, Bette, and the rest of the family: you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Elizabeth Gedmark

Greg was a childhood friend that I have many fond memories of. He was a good friend and even though we had fallen out of touch I will miss him. Rest in Peace Greg.
